For the most part, sharp keys are shades of orange red and yellow an flat keys are blues and greens. I am a musician as well, and I remember learning my scales and practicing them by making note cards with the scale name written in the color of the key signature. So I can easily rule out which names it is NOT. Often when learning people’s names, I can’t remember the specific name, but I can remember the color or the feeling of the name. I also was un-aware that this actually had a name and happened to other people! I’ve found that I have synestesic qualities and I’ve know about it for years, and knew that my sisters and friends didn’t think this way, but I figured it was just some weird quirk I developed.
